The annual Polar Bear Plunge is perhaps the largest such event in the seaside State of Delaware. Every February, thousands of swimmers bring their bravado and their pledge money to Rehoboth Beach where, on the count of "three," they all plunge head first into the icy Atlantic Ocean. Many prizes are available for the taking, but the best reward of all is the substantial funds that are raised for the Special Olympics of Delaware.
