Silver Lake Recreation Area offers 182 acres of open space near the historic state capital of Dover. Visitors will be happy to find picnic pavilions, paved walkways, and a sandy beach. And best of all, it's free to enter this popular community park and playground.
Swimming in Silver Lake is currently prohibited due to concerns over algae. This has led state officials to plan a number of restoration projects, including one valued at $250,000 for two sites just below Silver Lake's dam.
