Located where the Mispillion River meets the Delaware Bay, the DuPont Nature Center is one of the premiere wildlife-watching destinations in all of Delaware. Inside this facility, visitors can learn about the horseshoe crab-shorebird phenomenon that's been taking place for eons in the estuary. (Our personal favorite is the Delaware Estuary flyover exhibit.) Meanwhile, these same species can often be seen right outside. Many people bring their binoculars, spotting scopes, and a snack so they can take in the sights and sounds for hours on end.

Between April 1 and October 1, 2009, the DuPont Nature Center is open Tuesday through Sunday, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. It is also open from December 1, 2009, to March 1, 2010, every Wednesday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
