The Delaware Museum of Natural History opened its doors in 1972 to excite and inform people about the natural world through exploration and discovery. Visitors can encounter dinosaur skeletons, look beneath the seas, and marvel at birds and shells from all over the world.

Popular attractions include the interactive Nature Nook for children and the Larry Scott Nature Trail. This mile-long trail is located behind the museum, and it offers two loops. Of these, the yellow loop is both handicap and stroller accessible, and it has benches. The red loop's terrain is slightly more rugged, as this leads over a bridge and through a freshwater wetland.
