The Cape May-Lewes Ferry is the most memorable way to travel between the coastal states of Delaware and New Jersey. Each 17-mile voyage across Delaware Bay takes approximately 80 minutes. This convenient form of mass transportation cuts miles off your trip and tons of carbon-dioxide emissions. Plus, the only traffic you'll face is the dolphins swimming happily beside the boat.
We recommend the ferry's Marine Naturalist Program. This introduces summertime passengers to live sea creatures, like horseshoe crabs, sea stars, and terrapin turtles. Best of all, it's free.
